Interview with Peter Hewitt, Director and Fund Manager in Global Equities and currently responsible for managing the Columbia Threadneedle Global Managed Portfolio Trust PLC
Peter Hewitt is a Director and Fund Manager in Global Equities and is currently responsible for managing the CT Global Managed Portfolio Trust PLC, which was listed in 2008. He joined Columbia Threadneedle through the acquisition of BMO GAM (EMEA) in 2021, having previously been with BMO (and its predecessor companies) since 1999. Between 1983 and 1996 Peter was a Fund Manager with Ivory & Sime (later known as ISIS), working initially in the US team and from 1986 in the UK team, where he was responsible for a variety of pension fund and investment trust clients. Prior to joining the group in 1999, Peter spent two years as Head of UK Equities with Murray Johnstone. Peter holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from the Heriot Watt University.

Mr Day, a qualified lawyer, has had a diverse and successful senior management career, acquiring extensive knowledge of public markets, corporate finance and corporate governance across a range of sectors. He was a co-founder of institutional stockbroker, Arden Partners plc where he worked from 2002 until 2015, and was Head of Corporate Finance for most of his time with the firm. He played an important role in building the business both domestically and internationally.
Since then, he has been on the boards of various listed companies. He is currently Non-Executive Chairman of AIM-listed “Big Data” analytics company, Pelatro plc and most recently, AQSE-Listed The British Honey Company plc, the premium British honey and craft spirits producer. He is also Chairman of Eden Geothermal Limited, a private company, which is drilling the first well on its two-well deep geothermal site at the world-famous Eden Project in Cornwall.
MelloBLISS Competition Update
With just under three months left, we will be reviewing the Mello 2022 share picking competition. We will discuss the runners and riders, and who is left in the competition, intact!
This competition saw Mello investors have picked five stocks they thought will beat the FTSE indices at four quarterly review dates to get through to the final in December…. there will be five winners of sensational prizes that investors will really enjoy and cannot be won or purchased anywhere.

Founder and Editor – Andrew Latto, CFA founded this website with the objective of providing unbiased fund analysis and views. Andrew previously worked at an equity research house and a fund manager and follows the quality investing approach. He aims to use this background in equity research to “look under the hood” and consider the stocks that funds hold.
