The Mello Team has created Mello Tuesday as an evening for sector and asset coverage and our very first will be dedicated to investing in GOLD.

We will look at Gold as an asset and how to invest in it covering everything from buying gold coins and bars through to stakes in gold producers paying regular dividends. We will also cover ETFs, gold indexes, gold exploration & mining companies and investment funds, featuring a number of presentations. The webinar will provide a broad range with a panel session to cover all these options and assessing the risks and opportunities now open to investors.

Prior to joining CQS in 2011, Rob was an analyst at the Universities Superannuation Scheme and HSBC Global Asset Management where he focussed on the resource sector. Rob is a CFA charterholder and holds a BSc in Geological Sciences from the University of Leeds.

Keith joined CQS in July 2013 from Mirabaud Securities where he was a Senior Natural Resource Analyst. Prior to Mirabaud, Keith was Director of Mining Research at Evolution Securities. Previous to this, he was a top-ranked business services analyst at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, Commerzbank and Credit Suisse/BZW. Keith began his career in 1992 as a portfolio manager and research analyst at Scottish Amicable Investment Managers. Keith holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Physics from Durham University.

Mike Hodgson

Serabi Gold plc is a gold exploration and production company involved in the evaluation and development of gold deposits in Brazil. The company’s primary interests are its 100% owned Palito Mining Complex and the recently acquired Coringa Gold Project both located in the Tapajos region of northern Brazil.   Combined gold production from the Palito Mining Complex is currently approximately 40,000 ounces per annum, whilst the Coringa Project, when in production, is forecast to produce an average of 38,000 ounces per annum.

Michael Hodgson, Chief Executive

Mike is an Economic Geologist by training with over 35 years experience in the mining industry.  His career has been almost exclusively focused on operations and he has worked across a range of commodities and mining methods, in numerous jurisdictions. 

For the last 20 years or so he has concentrated on small and medium sized mine-management, with a strong focus on operational management and the introduction of enhanced working methods and efficiencies to improve productivity

Having started his career working for four years on the Zambia Copperbelt as a Mine Geologist, he worked for a number of years at the South Crofty underground narrow vein tin mine in Cornwall where he served as Chief Geologist and then Technical Services Manager.  This was followed for two years as a Mining Technical Consultant with ACA Howe International undertaking due diligence work on a variety of mining projects across the world for a range of clients including Barclays Capital and Deutsche Bank.  In 1998 he joined TVX Gold, initially as part of an international team evaluating M&A opportunities and providing technical support and expertise to TVX’s own operations, before taking on the role of Operations Manager for the company’s Stratoni base metal operation in Greece where significant operational improvements turned this into a viable and profitable operation. 

Mike has a Masters Degree in Mining Geology, is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining.

Paul Mylchreest has 30 years’ analytical experience, having started his career in the Chemicals sector. He was an Extel-rated analyst at S.G. Warburg, Schroders and Citibank. As well as a brief foray into Oil & Gas, he worked for several years as a Global Macro & Cross Asset strategist, firstly setting up on his own, and later working at US commodity trader, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM Inc.). He began his mining coverage at Crédit Agricole Chevreux in 2005. Paul joined Hardman & Co in early 2018. He holds a BSocSci in Money, Banking & Finance from the University of Birmingham.

Mark Bentley

Mark, M.A. Mark has been a full-time stock market investor since 2004, having pursued investment as a rewarding hobby for 20 years previously. Most of Mark’s career was spent in the I.T. industry beginning with Logica in 1980, where he worked on the Giotto Halley’s Comet intercept mission for the European Space Agency amongst other projects. In 1987 Mark started his own IT services business, Anvil Technology Ltd, which he ran successfully for 14 years. He is an active investor, attending many company meetings each year and publishes his findings on a number of investment orientated web sites.
